Locates at one of the alleys in well known neighborhood filled with Korea cultural atmosphere, Insa-dong, Oh Se Gae Hyang 오세계향 represents the authentic taste of Korean cuisine in a vegetarian way.

My best half, Aiden Lee, secretly looked up the internet and found this amazing place. As soon as I moved to Korea, he brought me to this restaurant.
Oh Se Gae Hyang will never fail when it comes to Vegetarian Taste.
Wow Experience
Before entering the restaurant, it is required to take off your shoes. You may wonder why there is no any so called "chair" in this restaurant. All the guests are sitting down on the wooden floor. This can be traced back to the ancient Korean Lifestyle. Due to the freezing cold winter in Korea, Korean installed heating "ondol" system underground; therefore, once they sit down on the floor, they can feel the warmth.
Opening up the menu, you are able to see various kinds of noodles, rice, stews, and other dishes. As you can see the picture above, I ordered 불구이덮밥 #Vegetarian BBQ and Rice, and 매실탕수채 Fried Soy Protein Served with Sweet and Sour Srarchy Sauce. As long as you order rice, you will be served together with several side dishes 반찬 and a bowl of soup. Although the amount of these side dishes aren't much, they go perfectly with the main course you order; in addition, you can ask more side dishes if you finish them without any charges!!
The taste of my 불구이덮밥 was filled with light but pleasant vegetarian BBQ sauce, usually BBQ sauce can be quite heavy and salty. However, stir fried vegetables and bean-made vegetarian meat cooked with the sauce will definitely leave you a good impression of this meal. As for 매실탕수채, it is meant to be providing we, vegetarians, a chance to experience the similar taste of the popular Korean "Sweet and Sour Pork 탕수육". The fried mushroom is crispy enough even when cooked with the sweet and sour sauce. It is always a ideal option if the main course isn't enough for you!
